Clean Ingredients [Peak Performance]
Less is More
We believe in fewer, higher-quality ingredients, meticulously formulating our body care with only what your skin truly needs. No unnecessary fillers, no harsh toxins, just pure, effective skincare for all skin types.
The Field Trip Clean Beauty Standard
At Field Trip, clean beauty isn’t just about what’s in our products—it’s about what’s left out. We believe skin care should be as safe, sustainable, and effective as possible, without compromising your health or the environment.
We intentionally left out parabens, sulfates, petroleum derived ingredients, silicones and artificial fragrances and dyes. No synthetic thickening agents just for texture, no empty additives [including water] because they do nothing for your skin. At Field Trip, every ingredient serves a purpose for healthier skin, and even better results.

The foundation of our FT Clean Standard is our 'Never List' which contains over 1,200 chemicals that we prohibit or restrict, due to safety and/or sustainability concerns as outlined by the EU.
Animal + Animal Byproducts
All animal + animal byproducts are prohibited including Beeswax, Cholesterol, Musks, Fats, Lactose, Lanolin, and Keratin.
BHA (Butylated Hydroxyanisole)
A preservative linked to cancer, skin irritation, and hormone disruption.
BHT (Butylated Hydroxytoluene)
A Toluene-based preservative linked to skin irritation. Chemical Sunscreens Some chemical sunscreens have been linked to hormone disruption.
Cyclic Silicones D4, D5, D6
Data indicates that some of these chemicals may have reproductive, developmental toxicity and/or endocrine disruption concerns. They are also persistent in the environment, and may build up in the food chain.
EDTA’s
These ingredients are not linked to consumer health issues, but they might be a problem for aquatic life since they don't break down in the environment and have been found in waterways.
Ethanolamines
These ingredients (including DEA/TEA/MEA/ETA) may be contaminated with chemicals like Nitrosamines, which are linked to cancer.
Hydroquinone
Typically used for skin lightening reasons, it inhibits melanin synthesis, causes skin irritation, and may cause discoloration of the skin. Hydroquinone is a metabolite of the carcinogen Benzene.
Methyl Cellosolve or 2-Methoxyethanol
This ingredient has been banned in the EU; it’s a solvent that’s used as an additive in perfumes. It can cause skin irritation and may cause effects on the central nervous system, blood, bone marrow, kidneys and liver.
Methylchloroisothiazolinone and Methylisothiazolinone
These preservatives are banned from use in leave-on cosmetic products in the EU and restricted to very small amounts in rinse-off products. They can cause skin allergies and irritation and may be toxic to the nervous system.
Parabens
Certain Parabens have been linked to hormone disruption. Out of caution, we prohibit all Parabens, including Butylparaben, Isopropylparaben, Methylparaben.
Polyethylene Glycols
PEGs can be contaminated with ethylene oxide and 1,4-dioxane during the manufacturing process. Ethylene oxide is a known carcinogen, and 1,4-dioxane is a potential carcinogen. Increased Skin Permeability: PEGs can increase the skin's ability to absorb ingredients, which means that both beneficial and harmful ingredients can penetrate deeper into the skin.
Perfluorinated compound (PFASs or PFCs)
There are 3000 Highly Fluorinated Compounds used in many different types of products because of their oil-, stain-, and water-repellent properties. Compounds in this category do not break down in the environment, and many have been linked to a variety of health issues including cancer, hormone disruption, liver toxicity, and obesity. Avoid products with “perfluor” or “polyfluor” as part of the ingredient.
Petrolatum Derived Ingredients
The concerns with these ingredients are unsustainable sourcing and possible PAH contamination. PAH (which stands for Polyaromatic Hydrocarbons) are linked to cancer. Mineral Oil, Paraffin Wax, Liquid Paraffin, and several other ingredients are also petroleum distillation byproducts.
Phthalates
Phthalates are plasticizing chemicals. Some appear on product ingredient labels, but many may remain undisclosed, hiding under the term “fragrance.” Some phthalates have been linked to hormone disruption.
Synthetic Fragrances
These can contain hidden chemicals that can cause allergies or sensitivities.

Synthetic Colourants + dyes
May cause bioaccumulation (when chemicals build up in living things) and are potentially toxic.
Plant-derived ingredients
We only use ingredients sourced from plants; oils, extracts, butters and essential oils and absolutes.

Ingredients that are considered safe for human health and the environment, with transparent labeling.
Cruelty-free and vegan products
We only use ingredients that are not tested on animals and do not contain animal-derived ingredients.

Products that are conscious of environmental impact and use resources responsibly.
Natural Fragrance essential Oils
We only use 100% natural essential oils and absolutes to create our signature scents. This reduces allergies, sensitivities and risk of endocrine disruption.
